Sweet Escape Villa - Waterfront w/dock & kayaks

Katherine and Josie provide everything you need to have a lovely vacation in TCI and the cost is EXTREMELY economical, especially compared to the resort costs! The house had everything we needed and they went above and beyond to help us have a great vacation. Make sure to read the book of tips in the house, it has great info!

Villa was comfortable, clean, bright. Beds were comfortable . Enjoyed the screened deck in the mornings and evenings. AC worked well. Well stocked. Private location. Getting around to different areas was easy. Enjoyed the kayaks, SUP, snorkel and beach gear. Katherine is an amazing host. Very responsive and informative, so helpful with everything.

This is a very comfortable and spacious vacation home with excellent internet, TV and air conditioning. The TV has a great selection of channels as well as Netflix and YouTube. The wireless internet works great and is very consistent throughout the house. The host is very friendly and accommodating. The back yard is on a canal with clear water. There are kayaks and paddle boards to enjoy as well. The house's location is a few minutes drive to Turtle Cove marina and the majestic Grace Bay beach is easy to get to by car as well. The decor is up to date, the shower works fine and the beds are great. The host quickly responds to requests, and we got a nice fruit punch to enjoy when we checked in.

Our stay at the great escape villa exceeded our expectations! The place was very clean, comfortable, and stocked with anything you need! Katherine was so helpful and responsive and we really enjoyed our vacation to the max with all the helpful advice and information that was provided from beaches, restaurants, grocery shopping and private boat rental. Our 4 kids had the best time and we had all the comforts of home and more. Beach chairs, coolers, snorkel gear, bikes, and kayaks were all available! The place was so centrally located and was an easy drive to Grace Bay and Sapodilla which our kids loved best! Thank you for the amazing stay!

From the moment we interacted with Katherine, we knew we had found the perfect spot for our vacation. This spotless villa (thanks Josie!) had everything we need for a relaxing trip - snorkeling gear, floats, SUPs, kayaks, and working beach chairs. Katherine's recommendations in her vacation binder were fabulous. It was like having a dedicated concierge. The best recommendation, by far, was to charter a boat with Captain Brian (aka Cobra) for two days. Diving for lobster and conch followed by a beach BBQ was an unforgettable experience! I would come back here in a heartbeat!

We had a great time in TCI, the house is great. Katherine was so helpful and responsive and provide great suggestions and tips. We will stay again if we come back to TCI!

To begin with Josie is your best friend on the island. I can not express the professionalism, expertise, and the overall experience that me and my family enjoyed while visiting Sweet Escape. Everything you need and more is located right there at home...and we did call it home for the week we were there. If we had a request or a need they were right there answering my questions and helping to set it up so that we had the best experience. Also. TAKE THE BOAT OUT!!! We had the best captains the two days we had the boat and it was my kids favorite part of the entire trip, and let me tell you each day was different and beyond special. This is a rental experience you will not regret!!!!

The house was lovely and very clean. It included a lot of little extras that we didn't expect. It was like having our own home there instead of an impersonal hotel. The beds and linens were very comfortable and the house was beautifully decorated. We rented their SUV which worked out well since we wanted to take a paddle board to other locations. There was plenty to do and places to explore. I think we managed to get to all corners of the island and see all the wonderful beaches.

We were greeted by the lovely Jocelyn who had made the best Rum Punch I have ever had. It was a great way to start our vacation. The weather was amazing, the ocean temperature nice and warm, you can see you toes in the sand while you stand up in deep water up to your neck. It is super clean and we swam and/or floated for hours. The beach sand is so silky and feels amazing on your feet. Sweet Escape VIlla is also super clean and well decorated. The Gorgeous Turquoise Slip cover sofa's to the pillow top mattresses. We were very comfortable in this villa and will definately recommend to freinds and family and return ourselves. We rented the SUV, which has Thule Kayak Racks, that made it easy for us to transport the Stand Up Paddle Boards to the beach with us. Great Exercise and fun to explore. Very nice seats in the Kayak's too. We just used the Kayak in the Canal which was also alot of fun. There is a brand new water trampoline with a Slide & Launch. We had fun playing with the kids on this at the dock. The Canal is also beautiful to swim in. There is a ladder on the water trampoline and at the dock. There is also a floating seadoo dock so we found it easy to get in and out of the water. There are lovely chaise loungers at the dockside patio and the palms trees and beauganvalia were beautiful to look at all over the property. Lots of lovely gardens with tropical flowers I dont know all the names of the flowers but loved the Hibiscus too & Night Blooming Jasmine. Thank You Katherine & Jocelyn for everything you did to make our stay amazing.

Sweet Escapes is a lovely, comfortable home with breezes flowing through. We loved the screened porch (especially since I'm prone to bug bites). Most of the meals we had at the house were on the porch. We also enjoyed lounging on the deck by the canal.

Joselyn had the house prepared, gave us a tour of the property, and made us some yummy rum punch. She pointed out areas of interest on a map. There was also a book with recommendations and directions. She was available via the house cell phone to answer any questions. We also liked finding a couple of beers and water in the fridge. We had plenty of paper goods, too.

We rented a car since there's not much in walking distance. We didn't have to drive far to visit the places we wanted to go, though. Beach chairs, towels, umbrella, & coolers are available for use. We didn't want for anything! It was the best-equipped house with supplies where we've ever stayed.

It was a relaxing vacation!

My husband and I stayed in the Sweet Escape Villa from the 13th of January through to the 20th. The Villa is just as pictured- spacious, clean and supplied with everything one needs to feel right at home. The bathrooms and bedrooms are beautifully done in the colours of the Caribbean and the living room/family room is large and comfortable!

We had issues regarding a lost passport the very first evening we arrived, and we have to thank Jocelyn and Katherine for all their assistance! We retrieved the passport that fell out in the back of our cab ride from the airport that very same night and were grateful for all the teamwork involved - and that extends to the cab drivers who helped get the word out! Wonderful people!

The binder full of information at the villa was extremely helpful and very user friendly. We definitely benefited from it. :-) Jocelyn even picked up the items we wanted to have on hand when we arrived! This is as over and above the complimentary pitcher of ice cold rum punch and the Turks Head beer that awaits every new visitor to the villa.

The SUV was perfect as I like a little air conditioning when we are driving. We packed the cooler, the beach chairs and towels as well as the umbrella every morning and made our way to either Grace Bay Beach or Long Bay Beach to soaked up the sun and swim in the ocean.

We were always just a text or phone call away from Jocelyn if we needed anything.

Sharkbite and Cocovan at night and Rickie’s beach bar in the day proved to be the perfect pace for both of us! Especially with Sunday night football.

One last mention that is too important to ignore...Katherine was gracious enough to understand the issues surrounding our flight suspension due to the fallout from hurricane Irma, and helped as much as she could to find alternatives for our planned visit in late November. When it proved to be impossible, she graciously offered us a credit, which we used as soon as possible. We didn’t expect this because our trip was less than two weeks away. Katherine’s offer went over and above, which speaks volumes.

Thank you for your hospitality Katherine and a big thank you to Jocelyn as well. We plan on returning!  

The Villa is even better in person then it is in the pictures online and the pictures are what caught our attention and led me to inquire about staying at this beautiful villa. When Katherine responded with a wealth of information to help us plan our vacation, we knew we were in good hands as we were dealing with someone very passionate about ensuring their guests have the best vacation ever. We couldn't wait to their and we didn't want to leave once we had a taste of Island Life. Sweet Escape Villa is a beautiful property with a nice breeze, lots of palm trees and flowering shrubs in a quiet residential community of professionals and other Vacation rentals. There are no villa's across the canal so it was nice and private to sit down at the dock, it was like being at a modern cottage on a lake but we were on the Ocean. We had so much fun swimming in the canal, jumping on the water trampoline and at night, there are a million stars in the sky as there no light pollution. Katherine & Josie welcomed us with a glass of the most delicious rum punch. They gave us a map which was custom made showing us where we were staying, where the grocery store is, Sharkbite and a list of other great places. Once we got the hang of driving on the left we had a blast exploring the island. We felt "at home" and so welcome by everyone. We went to a several different places every day and enjoyed relaxing at different beach spot every day. We also went out on a 1/2 day snorkel trip with Island Vibes which was a highlight. We also went on a Sunset Sail with Ocean Vibes on their 48 foot Sail Catamaran sailing across Grace Bay into the sunset with great drinks and great friends. This was our first trip to Turks & Caicos and it exceeded our expectations. We had the best meals at Sharkbite, Yoshi's, Coco Bistro, Thai Orchid, Vix and Somewhere a few times. We are already planning our next trip and will be in touch to reserve our next stay at Sweet Escape. The Villa has the most comfortable pillow top mattresses, the bedding was soft and we all slept very well. The bathrooms are gorgeous, I loved the Turquoise Tiles, the soaker tub & 7 Foot shower with the Glass and pebble tiles on the floor and the bench seat with the Kohler rain shower was a dream shower. The great room has a beautiful caribbean wood beam ceiling and 2 large turquoise sofa's and a chaise lounge with a 55" TV was great for relaxing after dinner, great stereo and we loved sipping wine on the screened in porch.

I enjoyed my stay a lot was a beautiful place even after the hurricane it was barely noticeable that the hurricane was just over a week or so ago, the food was amazing and the house was spot on as they got there fixing and reinstallations all done making it better than the pics. I am so happy we chose Sweet Escape Villa. It was everything we dreamed of & more! I feel very lucky to have found this gorgeous place. We saved alot of money and had the best vacation ever. It is so nice to have all the amenities of home but on a tropical island paradise with your very own dock. In the morning, I took my coffee down to the dock and dove off the seadoo dock for a nice morning swim. The salt water is so therapeautic and it is so clear and clean and warm. We usually had breakfast at home, fresh grapefruit, berries on our cereal or eggs. There are 2 very nice white igloo coolers in great condition, along with lots of plastic tupperware to make it easy to pack a lunch. We rented the White Santa Fe SUV which is in great condition, cool ac, lots of cargo space. We had 4 people in our group. There are roof racks on top and they provide Tie Downs so you can transport 2 Sup's or a double Ocean Kayak to the beach or over to Leeward to explore the Mangroves. Katherine recommended we try that so we did and are we ever glad we did. Amazing yahcts at Blue Haven, Life of the Rich & Famous. We loved paddling across the channel to Half Moon Bay and the Mangroves. She showed us where Iguana Island was in relation to Big Blue Watersports and Blue Haven Marina. We saved over $800 by having the Kayaks & SUPS as that is what they charge for their eco tour for 2 hours and we got to do it for FREE. It was nice to do things on OUR TIME vs having to be on a schedule. I didn't wear a watch or ever look at my phone. There is great Wi-Fi in the Villa, so we were able to check emails and upload photos whenever we wanted. There is also a Printer available, if needed. The Villa is very comfortable. There are two super cozy Slip Cover Sofa's in the Great Room. I loved the Yellow Chaise Lounge with the Flamingo's on it. I passed out there reading my book a few times. The breeze thru the screened in porch was awesome. It felt like home. We were all very comfortable there. It is well decorated, very beachy, beautiful artwork, spotlessly clean. The furniture is excellent shape. The SS Fridge & Dishwasher were brand new. The Kitchen has a gorgeous granite countertop and undermount double sink and sprayer. We make alot of protein shakes & juices and there is a Nutribullet & another IQ Blender there that were amazing for that. Plus a coffee grinder, which she told us before our arrival, so we brought fresh beans with us. We ate at Sharkbite & Bay Bistro, both amazing. Thank You

This is a long-overdue review of our stay at the Sweet Escape Villa in mid-April. The Villa was more than adequate for our family of four. We found it to be clean and stocked with virtually everything we needed.

We enjoyed the canal and patio in the backyard and spent lots of time on the upper-level balcony. The grill and fully-equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare our breakfasts and most lunches right at “home,” so we could splurge on restaurant dinners. One day we bought a fresh snapper from a local fisherman and prepared it on the grill. Having a washer and dryer on site allowed us to pack very lightly.

Katherine and Josie were just a phone call or text away when we had questions, although the binder of information provided answered most of our questions.

We also rented the Hyundai SUV during our stay. It was so convenient to rent directly from Sweet Escape rather than going through a rental agency. Katherine took care of all of the paperwork for both the Villa and SUV rentals very efficiently and advised us in advance of what to expect every step of the way.

Perhaps most notable is the lengths that Katherine and her staff went to to track down an item we misplaced during our stay. We didn't realize until we returned that we'd left it behind. Josie kindly searched the Villa but couldn't find it. Eventually, it was discovered in the taxi we took to the airport (Sonny’s Taxi - I highly recommend). Sonny delivered it to Katherine, who Fedexed it to us. We were so grateful to have it back and pleased and impressed with the effort Katherine and her staff and Sonny the taxi driver put into helping us.

Sweet Escape was a wonderful experience all around, and I recommend it without hesitation. It'll be our first call next time we travel to TCI.

This was our first time to TCI. We've vacationed at to other places around the Caribbean so do have something to compare to. We did like TCI very much. The beaches are the best and many to choose from. Roads are in good shape and easy to get around. Provo also seemed to be relatively safe.

In the past we've always stayed where we could walk to the beach so had some concerns with staying inland. However, being centrally located offered the option to explore different spots so each day was different. We agree with other compliments concerning the villa and responsiveness from Katherine and Josie. One thing to mention is Katherine's "30 Things to do on TCI". Just follow her instructions and you'll have a great vacation.

* Bugaloos on Friday night

* Rotary Park beach access - park and a cut through to Bay Bistro, walk the beach and use the foot bath.

* Bay Bistro for dinner - a "must do" dinner at least for one evening.

* Sharkbite for dinner - Kate's guide mentions that you may see a shark. Well, we didn't expect to see Jaws, but we did. Oh my!

*Turks Kabab

* Sapidilla Bay and beach. Water just seems to be warmer and calmer there.

* Snorkel from shore at Coral Gardens and Smith's Reef. It's free!

* Conch (and fish) Farm - very interesting.

PS - maybe the time of the year, but had no problems with bugs/noseeums/mosquitoes at all.

Our family of 9 stayed in the villa and guest house for 12 days in July -Aug. Katherine and Josie felt like family to us. Katherines attention to details are above and beyond, and we felt like we knew the island before we even arrived. The villa and cottage and grounds were absolutely perfect for our family. They provided everything we could think of-snorkel gear, paddle boards, kayaks, sand toys, life jackets, boogie boards, too much to remember. We also rented cars from them, which was very convenient. Highly recommend renting the pontoon boat and going towards Half Moon Bay area. Also, must have Josie make jerk chicken for you. She absolutely made the best food we had on the island. We have traveled to Hawaii over 10 times as a family over the years, on a modest budget, and this is by far the best travel experience weve had working with Katherine and Josie. Thank you so much!!!
