To begin with Josie is your best friend on the island. I can not express the professionalism, expertise, and the overall experience that me and my family enjoyed while visiting Sweet Escape. Everything you need and more is located right there at home...and we did call it home for the week we were there. If we had a request or a need they were right there answering my questions and helping to set it up so that we had the best experience. Also. TAKE THE BOAT OUT!!! We had the best captains the two days we had the boat and it was my kids favorite part of the entire trip, and let me tell you each day was different and beyond special. This is a rental experience you will not regret!!!!
The house was lovely and very clean. It included a lot of little extras that we didn't expect. It was like having our own home there instead of an impersonal hotel. The beds and linens were very comfortable and the house was beautifully decorated. There was plenty to do and places to explore. I think we managed to get to all corners of the island and see all the wonderful beaches.
My husband and I stayed in the Sweet Escape Villa from the 13th of January through to the 20th. The Villa is just as pictured- spacious, clean and supplied with everything one needs to feel right at home. The bathrooms and bedrooms are beautifully done in the colours of the Caribbean and the living room/family room is large and comfortable!
We had issues regarding a lost passport the very first evening we arrived, and we have to thank Jocelyn and Katherine for all their assistance! We retrieved the passport that fell out in the back of our cab ride from the airport that very same night and were grateful for all the teamwork involved - and that extends to the cab drivers who helped get the word out! Wonderful people!
The binder full of information at the villa was extremely helpful and very user friendly. We definitely benefited from it. :-) Jocelyn even picked up the items we wanted to have on hand when we arrived! This is as over and above the complimentary pitcher of ice cold rum punch and the Turks Head beer that awaits every new visitor to the villa.
We packed the cooler, the beach chairs and towels as well as the umbrella every morning and made our way to either Grace Bay Beach or Long Bay Beach to soaked up the sun and swim in the ocean.
We were always just a text or phone call away from Jocelyn if we needed anything.
Sharkbite and Cocovan at night and Rickie’s beach bar in the day proved to be the perfect pace for both of us! Especially with Sunday night football.
One last mention that is too important to ignore...Katherine was gracious enough to understand the issues surrounding our flight suspension due to the fallout from hurricane Irma, and helped as much as she could to find alternatives for our planned visit in late November. When it proved to be impossible, she graciously offered us a credit, which we used as soon as possible. We didn’t expect this because our trip was less than two weeks away. Katherine’s offer went over and above, which speaks volumes.
Thank you for your hospitality Katherine and a big thank you to Jocelyn as well. We plan on returning!
The Villa is even better in person then it is in the pictures online and the pictures are what caught our attention and led me to inquire about staying at this beautiful villa. When Katherine responded with a wealth of information to help us plan our vacation, we knew we were in good hands as we were dealing with someone very passionate about ensuring their guests have the best vacation ever. We couldn't wait to their and we didn't want to leave once we had a taste of Island Life. Sweet Escape Villa is a beautiful property with a nice breeze, lots of palm trees and flowering shrubs in a quiet residential community of professionals and other Vacation rentals. There are no villa's across the canal so it was nice and private to sit down at the dock, it was like being at a modern cottage on a lake but we were on the Ocean. We had so much fun swimming in the canal, jumping on the water trampoline and at night, there are a million stars in the sky as there no light pollution. Katherine & Josie welcomed us with a glass of the most delicious rum punch. They gave us a map which was custom made showing us where we were staying, where the grocery store is, Sharkbite and a list of other great places. Once we got the hang of driving on the left we had a blast exploring the island. We felt "at home" and so welcome by everyone. We went to a several different places every day and enjoyed relaxing at different beach spot every day. We also went out on a 1/2 day snorkel trip with Island Vibes which was a highlight. We also went on a Sunset Sail with Ocean Vibes on their 48 foot Sail Catamaran sailing across Grace Bay into the sunset with great drinks and great friends. This was our first trip to Turks & Caicos and it exceeded our expectations. We had the best meals at Sharkbite, Yoshi's, Coco Bistro, Thai Orchid, Vix and Somewhere a few times. We are already planning our next trip and will be in touch to reserve our next stay at Sweet Escape. The Villa has the most comfortable pillow top mattresses, the bedding was soft and we all slept very well. The bathrooms are gorgeous, I loved the Turquoise Tiles, the soaker tub & 7 Foot shower with the Glass and pebble tiles on the floor and the bench seat with the Kohler rain shower was a dream shower. The great room has a beautiful caribbean wood beam ceiling and 2 large turquoise sofa's and a chaise lounge with a 55" TV was great for relaxing after dinner, great stereo and we loved sipping wine on the screened in porch.
I enjoyed my stay a lot was a beautiful place even after the hurricane it was barely noticeable that the hurricane was just over a week or so ago, the food was amazing and the house was spot on as they got there fixing and reinstallations all done making it better than the pics. Thx Josie and Kate.
This is a long-overdue review of our stay at the Sweet Escape Villa in mid-April. The Villa was more than adequate for our family of four. We found it to be clean and stocked with virtually everything we needed.
We enjoyed the canal and patio in the backyard and spent lots of time on the upper-level balcony. The grill and fully-equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare our breakfasts and most lunches right at “home,” so we could splurge on restaurant dinners. One day we bought a fresh snapper from a local fisherman and prepared it on the grill. Having a washer and dryer on site allowed us to pack very lightly.
Katherine and Josie were just a phone call or text away when we had questions, although the binder of information provided answered most of our questions.
Perhaps most notable is the lengths that Katherine and her staff went to to track down an item we misplaced during our stay. We didn't realize until we returned that we'd left it behind. Josie kindly searched the Villa but couldn't find it. Eventually, it was discovered in the taxi we took to the airport (Sonny’s Taxi - I highly recommend). Sonny delivered it to Katherine, who Fedexed it to us. We were so grateful to have it back and pleased and impressed with the effort Katherine and her staff and Sonny the taxi driver put into helping us.
Sweet Escape was a wonderful experience all around, and I recommend it without hesitation. It'll be our first call next time we travel to TCI.
This was our first time to TCI. We've vacationed at to other places around the Caribbean so do have something to compare to. We did like TCI very much. The beaches are the best and many to choose from. Roads are in good shape and easy to get around. Provo also seemed to be relatively safe.
In the past we've always stayed where we could walk to the beach so had some concerns with staying inland. However, being centrally located offered the option to explore different spots so each day was different. We agree with other compliments concerning the villa and responsiveness from Katherine and Josie. One thing to mention is Katherine's "30 Things to do on TCI". Just follow her instructions and you'll have a great vacation.
Some of our highlights:
* Bugaloos on Friday night
* Rotary Park beach access - park and a cut through to Bay Bistro, walk the beach and use the foot bath.
* Bay Bistro for dinner - a "must do" dinner at least for one evening.
* Sharkbite for dinner - Kate's guide mentions that you may see a shark. Well, we didn't expect to see Jaws, but we did. Oh my!
*Turks Kabab
* Sapidilla Bay and beach. Water just seems to be warmer and calmer there.
* Snorkel from shore at Coral Gardens and Smith's Reef. It's free!
* Conch (and fish) Farm - very interesting.
PS - maybe the time of the year, but had no problems with bugs/noseeums/mosquitoes at all.
My husband, 4 year old son and I stayed in the cottage for a week and had a wonderful time! Joselyn is very helpful and there if you need her. We love having a washer and dryer because it cuts down on the luggage we have to bring. The bed was comfortable. We cooked on the grill every day. It was the perfect size for the 3 of us. We never felt unsafe, which was something I was concerned about. The house has a safe too. One of our favorites was Pirates Cove and Bonefish Beach (same location). Getting there took a long time but it was part of the adventure. We would definitely stay here again!
The amenities inside and out make it feel like a hotel/resort, but the privacy puts you on your own island! Recommend it to anyone.
We stayed at this property 3 times now, It is clean, spacious, has everything you need and is located close to everything. The host is wonderful and will make sure your stay in Providenciales is the best vacation you will ever have. We were welcomed with the islands favourite beer and rum punch even virgin punch for the kids! The best way to discover this island is to explore not stay on a resort, there are so many restaurants, beaches (we went to a different one each day) shops and you have the option of going to a resort for the day if you want. Being located on the canal gives you the option of using the many water toys at a fraction of the cost of those at the resorts. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the kitchen has everything you need the grocery store is just around the corner and being able to go to the fish fry on Thursday night was perfect. If you are thinking of travelling to the Turks and Caicos check to see if this property is available first!
No trip is without hiccups but it is not always about how it begins it's about how it ends. We had a few but they all worked out in the end.
With that said.....What a great week we had at this Villa. With all the extras this property offers it's a win win! We usually do all inclusive but the prices were way to high and visiting the island by renting a home allows you to REALLY enjoy the island. We brought food with us bought our other needs at the grocery store and toured this amazing island.
The island has recently had some bad PR and its too bad because this is the place to go and you can most certainly visit and make it an affordable trip. You just have to be creative to pull it off .
Although we never met Kate , Joselyn was a pleasure and was always a phone call away. I would suggest an alarm system if the bad Pr continues.
When we go back and we will it will be with this property owner. Thanks again for an eventful amazing week
As we drove up to Sweet Escape Villa & Guest Cottage the pictures on the internet came to life! The Property & Cottage are even better in Real Life. Of course, it is Paradise, the warm caribbean breeze just makes your body feel sooo healthy. There are beautiful mature Palm Trees, Tropical Trees, Flowering Beauganvalie & Hibiscus. The Cottage is very spacious & clean. The Caribbean Wood Beam Ceiling makes it feel bigger too, just loved the high ceilings & the ceramic tiles. The Bathroom has floor to ceiling 8 x 16 white bevelled ceramic tiles with a cobalt blue accent 1/2 way up the wall. They installed the small cobalt blue accent tiles onto the floor of the shower floor with a slip free surface. Perfect colour for a bathroom/shower combo. It has all new shiny silver faucets, shower head, taps & light fixtures, everything was sparkling clean. The Kitchen has a very nice black granite countertop with silver that sparkles in the light. It was well stocked with beautiful dishes, pots n pan, glasses, to-go travel mugs, plastic tupperware containers to help pack a lunch in the cooler provided. Katherine really thought of everything. There was a large assortment of spices, sea salt & pepper grinder, paper towel, napkins, sugar, coffee filters and we enjoyed a bag of Tim Horton's Coffee Beans Josie had left with a coffee grinder. There were also beautiful Guest Soaps, Shower Gel & Body Cream & a Blow Dryer. We used the Weber BBQ Grill alot. They sell amazing steaks at IGA and with the Montreal Steak Spice and a local Bambarra West Indian mustard we picked up at Fottac Store in Grace Bay. With a nice bottle of Red Wine from the Wine Cellar - they have a tasting bar and Jesus helped us choose the perfect wine - it is very close to the cottage. We took our dinner plates down to the dockside patio overlooking the canal. Oh my goodness, it is so beautiful. What a great place to dine & truly relax and enjoy paradise. Very private, romantic & peaceful. No distractions. Simply Amazing. It was so fun, we had such a great view. It is only 2 to 4 minutes to Grace Bay Beach where we snorkelled at Smith's Reef and in front of Somewhere Beach Cafe at Coral Gardens. All information Katherine provides in her brilliantly organized Guest Directory with driving directions to places. It made our trip so enjoyable! We did not want to leave, amazing!
Katherine and Josie were excellent to help us get settled and figure our way around TCI. This property is so lovely, and the bathroom was newly re-tiled. I'm looking forward to the possibility of returning! :) It was such a pleasure to stay here.
We had a fabulous stay at this property! Katherine was THE MOST accommodating host I've ever dealt with. From the minute we reserved the cottage, to our departure, she and her staff were in tune to our needs. I traveled with my 16 year old daughter, oldest daughter and son in-law who have an 8 month old baby. I worked out perfectly there was already a pack-n-play at the property. The Cottage was clean, spacious and super convenient to our other family members who were staying at Turtle Bay. We can't wait to go back for a second visit!
I’ve become a repeat visitor to the Island and always stay at Sweet Escape properties when available. Everything to give you a great stay is thought about whether it is up to date info on what’s going on, everything you need in the house so you don’t have to buy at vast expense at the grocery store, beach towels, snorkel gear - the list is endless. So frustrating staying somewhere and you find there’s no toilet roll or dishwasher tabs. You can literally leave your brain at home and enjoy the fully thought out villa. It shows that the owner spends time themselves in the houses to check everything you need is there. Discovery Bay is a great location too. Established residential area on the waterways, safe and quiet yet minutes from anything you want both to the East like Grace Bay and to the West like Sapodilla Bay etc. Recommended!
We spent 1 week in this well-equipped, clean, conveniently located villa. Every time we needed something, we looked and found it. No detail has been overlooked. Communication between Katherine and Josie was so helpful from booking until the day we left when they helped set up transportation to the airport. Gracious hosts through and through. We felt very safe at the villa and enjoyed this as our “home base” for our first visit to the island.
fantastic stay ! Cant wait to book again
Very spacious and clean
Friendly island, awesome beaches and breathtaking sites.
My husband and I and two friends had the most enjoyable stay at Sweet Escape Bungalow. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms very spacious, clean and the wall to wall tiles, double shower in the master ensuite and the Kohler Fixtures make the villa feel so luxurious without the luxurious price. Each room has two double sliding glass doors out to a wrap around deck. So you have a nice view to the north and west from the master and south and west from the 2nd bedroom which makes for great sunsets. There are room darkening roller blinds so if you want to sleep in a bit you can do that. The Kitchen is beautiful, well stocked with everything you could ever need and more. Katherine also ensures there are spices, sea salt and pepper, Tim Horton's Coffee, filters & grinder are a nice touch. We loved making our coffee and sitting outside on the covered porch in the comfy outdoor recliners overlooking the canal in the morning, the warm fresh air, fresh fruit, great friend and a beautiful villa were a great start for our vacation. We enjoyed exploring the canal in the Ocean Kayaks provided and Stand Up Paddleboards. We also took them on top of the SUV to Chalk Sound National Park and Leeward so we could explore and get our exercise. There are RIO Beach Chairs, and Igloo Cooler, very nice snorkel gear with dry snorkels so we went to Coral Gardens & Smith's Reef to snorkel and saw the most beautiful tropical fish in the clearest water we have ever seen. The ocean is the perfect temperature and we could just float in the ocean all day. It is paradise. It was so fun to cruise around in the Suv. We read the Island & Property Guest Directory that Katherine left for us and we took it with us. It has driving directions to her favourite beach stops along each of the islands incredible beaches so we could see what each spot had to offer. This made our vacation a dream vacation. We met the most beautiful people, we walked through the most beautiful resorts and enjoyed a spa day at the Regent Palms. When you are on the massage table you can hear the waterfall and then we went down to the pool for a swim and healthy lunch at the swim up pool bar called Plunge. There are very tall palm trees in the pool which has an infinity edge. We picked up some lobster tails and Rib Eye Steaks and cooked them on the BBQ and had a movie night at the Villa on the 55 Samsung TV and the Sofa & Matching Chair and ottoman made it very comfortable for each of us. Love TCI !
We spent a week here Nov. 2017. We came as a family. We enjoyed the home as there was plenty of coolers, chairs, towels for a beach visit. We cooked at the villa and there was more than enough cooking equipment from pots, pans, mixers for making drinks, grill, spices, etc.. there is a local fishery and a guy with the red truck and coolers to get fresh conch, shrimp, fresh caught fish and lobster daily. the fresh fish was far better than a restaurant. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards and as well as the seclusion. You are not far from anything. Restaurants, beaches, shopping and snorkeling. Mango Reef is a nice closeby restaurant. For a family this is a nice home with plenty of room. Don't forget to take snorkeling gear to Smith Reef and Coral Gardens (very close by) for an awesome snorkeling trip. I'd say 5 min. We did do a day trip to the barrier reef - that was quite impressive. The water , beaches and snorkeling are my favorite and we've been many places. Thank you for a relaxing and beautiful vacation.
My wife and I traveled to Turks and Caicos and stayed with another couple at the Sweet Escape Bungalo. There was plenty of room for two couples.
We enjoyed using the supplied kayaks that we paddle out to a shipwreck in waist deep turquoise water two miles off shore. We also Kayaked into mangroves, and the boat canals right next to the bungalo.
We were a short drive to multiple amazing beaches, all with different features but sharing common brilliant blue waters.
Diving was great. Snorkelling was great. Beaches top Cozumel, Cancun, Saint Thomas, and Aruba. Never been to better beaches anywhere in the world.
Finally, Kate was a super hostess. She really helps outline all the island's best features so you don't miss a thing. By the way, we are here less than a month after Irma and Maria. We were considering canceling our trip due to nonsense news of island devistation. Kate was very helpful, letting us know all was good on the island and she was right. All is paradise on Turks and Caicos.
This was the perfect vacation spot, great privacy but still just minutes away from all the great attractions. Beautifully decorated and great kitchen. Our favourite thing had to be the walk in double shower with bench seats. It was so great after a day at the most beautiful beeches in the world! The paddle boards were so fun, and the outdoor grill was great! Loved that there seemed to be no bugs at all, hung out on the covered patio all night ! And having laundry was an amazing amenity that was surprising helpful, not use to being able to wash our swim suits on vacation! Great bonus! So many fun things to do and the locals are great, especially the local fish fry every Thursday, (must try the coconut rum in a real coconut) Such a great place to stay, will be recommending it to everyone I know!
We really liked this house! Very private, out of the way of touristy places, easy to get to other areas from here. As others have mentioned, the place is very well stocked which definitely saves you money (spices etc.) We were able to sleep with sliding doors open and wonderful breezes, no problem! Nicely decorated, very clean. Cell phone provided for calls to Jocelyn if you needed anything at all. One week was definitely not long enough to explore everywhere we wanted to! We ate at Hemingways for lunch - very good, the conch shack-also good. We missed most of the night time activities-looks like you should head to the Children's park early for the Thursday fish fry-we went later and people were parked far far far ! We only spent one day on Grace Bay beach-snorkeling and people watching and the rest of the time at more remote locations we just came upon! The only downside to our vacation was a bit more rain then we expected!! We would definitely go back to this house, it was just the two of us but would have been fine to share with one other couple!
Our family just stayed at the Sweet Escape for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house is well maintained, clean and in a beautiful setting on the canal. We enjoyed having the ability to spread out with all our gear. Thank you so much Josie and Katherine for a great vacation.
Get location, your not missing out on anything it has all the conveniences of home, in an amazing place. Jocelyn is amazing and will help with everything you need.
The property is tastefully decorated and very clean! It definitely met our needs! Katherine was great to work with beginning with my initial email! We were met by Joselyn with a cold rum punch and lots of information. We also referred to the 3-ring binder and loved all the info about the best snorkeling areas, great restaurants, food shopping, etc. We enjoyed meeting Norman and he told us that a swimming pool will soon be a nice addition to the property! That will be an excellent amenity.
My husband & I had a very relaxing time in this beautiful villa!! The house is amazing-comfortable beds, great showers, beautiful kitchen...I can't say enough good things. We ate at Turks Kebab 4 times (in one week) & also at Graces cottage had an amazing meal there. The grocery store and shops are not too far away (5-6 mins) & the sunset on the beach was breathtaking. Owners were very helpful even gave us a phone to use to call them if we needed anything. Great experience & would love to go back!!
The Hopewell Villa was even more wonderful in person than we imagined. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in the center of Grace Bay, this villa offered everything we need for a perfect family vacation. It was wonderfully appointed, fully stocked, nicely decorated, comfortable, and pristine.
The villa offered a lot of privacy while still being in the heart of Grace Bay. It's a short walk to town and the beach, and a short drive to an array of beach access points.
We can't say enough about the hospitality and kindness of Josie who we met the day we arrived and was there to help us with questions and advice throughout our stay. Norman the owner was equally gracious and helpful.
We visited in the middle of July and thought we'd be miserably hot, but despite the July heat, we enjoyed a cool evening breeze every night.
This was a dream vacation and we would definitely stay at the Hopewell Villa again when we return.
Katherine was a pleasure to rent from and the house had everything. I was centrally located and a great location. Will be back.
The house was lovely; in a very nice neighborhood, newly built, extremely clean, and very, very comfortable. Josi met us at the house with delicious rum punch and provided a great overview of the island and things to do while we were there. However, my husband and I experienced an extremely unfortunate event while we were staying in Provo and left after only three nights. With that said, Norman, Josi, and Kate were amazing! They were so supportive and provided such great care that we will never book with anyone other than the Sweet Escape team. We will be back and we will bring friends!
My family and I stayed at the villa in March and we loved it! The house was immaculately clean and was stocked with all of the basics, it also looked just like the pictures. We liked that it was in a quiet residential neighborhood and we never had to worry about our safety. Our neighbor Norman was also great and very helpful, he even brought us coconut one day because my mother wanted some.
Kate was great to deal with and answered all of my emails and inquires in a timely manner. She also went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay and accommodated our very many requests. I also found her guidebook to be very helpful. I highly recommend the hopewell villa, you will not be disappointed with your stay. When we visit again we will be staying here for sure. You really do need one to get to the beach and other shops, its a short drive. Also loved the outdoor shower was very helpful when returning from the beach.
Thanks to Kate, Norman & Josie for making our stay so wonderful.
